Type 1 Diabetes is something that can be so scary. Only 3 in 1,000 kids have Type 1 Diabetes, but those numbers are increasing. It can be devastating if it is not caught in time though.
Lori shares her son, Grant’s story with us. How they found out he had T1D, driving to the children’s hospital, and how it changed their lives.
Make sure that you know the warnings signs. T1D is a childhood autoimmune disease. Being more aware is empowering! Make sure you listen to know what to do and look for and how it can be manageable. The Sheet’s have found a new normal and are happy and love their new normal.
Warning signs:
Drowsiness, Extreme Thirst, Frequent Urination, Fruity odor on the breath, Increased appetite, heavy breathing, sudden weight loss, sudden vision change, sugar in urine, or unconsciousness.
