The Lord will always provide a way for us. That is what we learn from Tamar. If you’re not looking, or you don’t fully understand, you’ll miss Him in her story though. The Lord slew Er, Tamar’s husband, because he was wicked. However, in this time and place, if your husband died, and you had no children, it became the responsibility of the brother to father a child in place of his brother. The child was still considered to be his brothers child though.
Judah, Er’s father was not helping in making sure that Tamar was given an opportunity to have a child for Er. We are diving into his story, and what happens and how the Lord helped Tamar on this journey.
The incredible thing is that the Lord provided a way. He always will. This is a huge lesson we learn from Tamar. The Lord will provide a way, even if other people are effecting out choices and the path we are on – the Lord can help provide a way.
The incredible thing is that Tamar bore twins – and from one of those lines came about Jesus Christ.
