My Soul Delight: Chapters 11 – 12
- Chapter 11:1, 4 + 5
- Soul Delights in the words of Isaiah. Why?
- Isaiah was the prophet Nephi grew up hearing the words of.
- Does your soul delight in hearing the words of President Hinckley, President Monson or even prophets of old, like Joseph Smith?
- Do you love hearing them and what they’ve taught or are teaching us?
- What about the current apostles?
- Then in verse 4 Nephi tells us that his soul delights in “providing unto my people the truth of the coming of Christ.”
- Nephi loves to testify of Jesus Christ and His coming!
- In verse 5 he says …
- Covenants – temple
- His Grace – the Atonement of Jesus Christ: Exaults and Saves
- His Justice – He is a just God. He does as He says He will.
- His Power – Priesthood power given to all worthy members of the Church through temple covenants.
- His Mercy – The compassion of Jesus Christ to save us.
- In the Eternal Plan of Deliverance from Death. – Plan of Happiness.
- Verse 6 – providing unto my people that Save Christ should come, all men must perish.
- Teaching that if Jesus Christ does not come then we are all going to be in a lost and fallen place. We need Him and His sacrifice in our life in order to be with Him and have any chance of being saved.
- Verse 8 – Nephi’s hope in what we read from him!
- Soul Delights in the words of Isaiah. Why?
Delight in the word of Prophets: Chapter 25
- Verse 5 – again Nephi Delights in the words of Isaiah
- What does your soul delight in?
- What do you want your soul to delight in?
- What does that mean to me? It means that when I find something that brings pure joy – I want to share it and not worry about what anyone besides God thinks about that.
- Verse 8 – Nephi says he knows theses words will be of great worth to us in that live in the last days.
- Verse 13 – My Soul Delighteth again!
- He delights in prophesying of Jesus Christ.
- Second half of verse 20 – I know these things are true.
- He’s been testifying of Jesus Christ and His coming and His death.
- Verse 23-26
- There are so many things we can do.
- Believe. Keep. Look forward. Be steadfast. Talk. Rejoice. Preach. Prophecy. Write.
- Verse 28-29
- BELIEVE
His Spirit is Always With Us: Chapter 26
- Verse 11
- We have to work for the Spirit to ALWAYS be with us.
- Elder Bednar said – All In podcast – That we do not have to worry about it being us or the Spirit – it is the Spirit if we have the gift of the HG and are living righteously.
- Verse 23-28
- Jesus Christ loves us.
- Come unto me all ye ends of the earth.
- Repent.
Coming Forth of the Book of Mormon: Chapter 27
- Verse 7 – Brother of Jared – read.
- Verse 9 – they are sealed by the power of God.
- Joseph Smith H 1:64
- Verse 11 – read upon the house tops!
- Verse 12 – 13
- Witnesses! We read those already.
- Verse 21 – God will do His work! We have to trust and have faith in Him and in our part of His plan.
- Verse 23
- I am God. I am a God of Miracles …
- Verse 26 – Restoration of the Gospel.
Why We Need a Bible: Chapter 29
- Verse 5
- He knows you. He hasn’t forgotten you!
- Verse 7-9
- REad these. This is why we need the Book of Mormon AND the Bible. We need both to be complete and have 2 witnesses.
- Verse 10 – Bible doesn’t contain all the words of Christ!
- Verse 12 – 15 We have so many words!
